Premolars.
The
first three cheek. Three upper and lower for a total of 12. Foals are born with
these (baby) teeth. These teeth are lost and are replaced with permanent teeth
at the following intervals:

Times may vary + or- 2 to 3 months. This is usually called "cap shedding". Chewing problems may appear as the caps loosen and pinch soft tissue. top
